Last Weekend we visited a very sunny London town, for our Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea at the Sanderson hotel. It's some where we've been waiting to visit since Christmas, when I first got gifted the voucher for it, from Sam's Dad. We certainly picked a great Weekend for it, so it really was worth the wait.
Sam and I spent the morning riding on Boris Bikes around Hyde Park, visiting the Disney Store and eventually heading to our date with the Hatter.
This afternoon tea is one I've looked into and thought about a lot. I have become some one in love with Afternoon tea, after Sam proposed to me over tea in London in 2013. I try my best to try out as many as possible, and have certainly fallen in love with a few.
I had however heard mixed reviews about this, but was pleasantly happy with the offerings and the pretty venue of the hotel.
From the outside, the Sanderson really looks like it needs an update but when you walk you're transformed to the beauty of this lovely hotel. We got to eat on the terrace area, which was perfect for the sunshine day but inside was very light and bright too.
The food was really tasty, and we got offered more savory options, which I took up- the sweet cake stand was filled but I do love a sandwich or two as well.
The sweet stand was filled with scones, biscuits, cakes and chocolates. All with a slight Wonderland theme, which made it rather and fun but so yummy too ♥
We treated our self to Sanderson cocktails, and just had a wonderful time together and relaxing in the beautiful courtyard.
Although it's not an afternoon tea I'd return to, I still really enjoyed myself and would recommend it for any Alice in Wonderland fan. It's personally not my taste, and although I adore Disney, for tea I would much prefer something beautiful like Harrods.
