Brecon Retreat was our base for the holiday, which is perfect for a luxury getaway, as well as being a great location to make the most of gorgeous South Wales.
Possibly the sweetest cafe in Brecon, full of amazing food, milkshakes and cupcakes. The pastel interior is a dream and they allow the pooches too. The cafe kindly reserved the cwtch, snuggle area for us and our gang. 3 dogs and 6 people take up a little bit of room...and get through a lot of milkshakes.
After scrolling their instagram many a time, the milkshakes were high on the lust list to try, and Sev, Lily & Alfie even got treats too.
Sgwd Yr Eira Waterfalls
This walk is perfect for a good hike, so walking boots or wellies are much needed. Both Severus and Lily totally loved it though, climbing and running, splashing in and out of the water and streams. You can get to 4 stunning waterfalls, but the last is the most breathtaking and the one we headed straight for.
It's a very wet walk along down by the waterfall and muddy the whole trial too, meaning that Severus, Lily & Alfie all appreciated their equafleeces on to snuggle in when they finished running around like mad spaniels.
With a gorgeous woodland walk along the reservoir, this makes for the most perfect dog walk. Parking close to the forest and walking up as far or short as you'd like, meaning that it can be a quick casual walk or something a little more serious.
Obviously being so close to water means that they spaniels had to get a little soggy. With the reservoirs all around the Beacons, you're not always allowed to enter them or it can be hard to do so. Around the other side of Talybont you're able park up and gives you easier access. Meaning two very happy pooches ♥
The best thing about a Sunday dog walk is the Sunday roast in the dog friendly pub, that follows [and the hot tub and prosecco that follows that]. After being given this gorgeous recommendation from the owner of our stunning holiday home, we knew it would be a winner as she knows the area so well...and has a spaniel too.The pub was cosy, but perfect for sitting in the bar area with the dogs. They were treated to water and treats by the table, and the service for the humans was just as great too. Roast turkey, pork and beef all around and no complaints from the epic plate of goodness. Finding a lovely dog friendly pub, that actually does awesome food is a winner, and this certainly was just that.
