Exploring the Cotswolds is the best thing to do, luckily living so close to adventure and find dog friendly places to eat, sleep and walk, but far enough away to feel like a treat when there.
The Maytime Inn in Asthall, near Burford, is a stunning pub with rooms. This time we went to check out the wonderful food and dog friendly restaurant.
The Maytime Inn
Tucked away in a rather picture perfect village, The Maytime Inn is beautiful from the start, with a really inviting exterior and even more an exciting interior if Alfie, the pub dog, is around.
The lunch menu is wonderful, and has a great mix of pub classics as well as a more fine dining feel to it too, the perfect mix for whatever you may be after. The food certainly didn't disappoint with clean plates all around and want for me....even though we were extremely full.
The best thing to follow a meal, a cocktail of course, with a few available as well as a large gin and wine list, The Maytime Inn would be perfect stop off after a long dog walk [preferably in the sunshine]
Dog Friendly Cotswold Pub
Severus and Lily joined us this lunch time, and were very welcomed with love and fusses and even treats at the bar too. A bowl of water was at the ready by our table, and as the restaurant is so light and open, we never felt we had to eat in a particular part with them.
Our little table by the window was just lovely, next to the fire and tucked away enough for the spaniels to hide away under the table while eating their chews.
Sadly Alfie, the pub dog, wasn't there to greet us, but no doubt he would of made the visit even better.
The staff were wonderful and the couple of hours we were there were so relaxed and inviting, certainly feeling special that our lunch took us somewhere lovely but also homely and settled too, easily being able to stay there and sip cocktails all evening.
Next on the list to try is the Sunday roast!
